Leading ATP Champions try out their culinary skills with AirAsia India in-flight dishes

AirAsia India, today, invited top players from the AirAsia Open 2015 for a cooking session with Taj Sats Chef Santosh at Hotel IBIS in Bengaluru City.
Instead of a tennis racquet John Paul Fruterro (USA), Ti Chen (Chinese Taipe) and Dane Propoggia (Australia) were seen with spatulas tossing some amazing dishes that are served as hot meals onboard AirAsia India. The excitement at the event reached an all new level when the Chef moved from teaching to preparing some mouth-watering recipes for the guests.
Mittu Chandiya, CEO, AirAsia India said “Food is an important part of our service at AirAsia India.

We are extremely happy that we could extend our great in-flights meals to the players through this session. We do hope this will help them de-stress and be back in action for the games with fresh enthusiasm. This is truly our way of giving an AirAsia India experience to the ATP players.â€

It was an interesting experience considering that we are playing on the tour for weeks and do not get to eat home food. I miss home food and this was a nice way of also leaving the court for a few minutes to do something newâ€, said John.
For Ti Chen, it was the first time he was cooking! “I am all excited and I know I will go back and learn a bit of cooking.

This was exciting and I am happy I could be a part of this classâ€, said the Taipe player.
Dane has done some cooking back home. “I am now Master Chefâ€, he gushed after the classes where they were taught to fry Basa Fish, sauté and toss vegetables and make butter-lime sauce.
“I really enjoyed doing this. It kind of gives us the chance to relax, not think about tennis and learn a few things. These initiatives give us the chance to interact with a lot of people other than our opponents on the tennis courtsâ€, said Dane.
“We, ATP and AirAsia wanted the players to experience more than just tennis and the idea was to make sure they took back good memories of having been here for the AirAsia Open. We are happy that the players enjoyed the experienceâ€, said Tournament Director, Sunil Yajaman.
