Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday congratulated senior Janata Dal (United) leader Vijay kumar Chaudhary on being elected as the speaker of the Bihar Assembly.
“With the common consensus of all Shri Vijay kumar ji has been elected as the speaker of the Bihar Assembly. I am happy that a healthy tradition has been followed. I believe that he is an able person who is well aware of the parliamentarian system. He will be able to run the house in better way. My hearty congratulations to him and I wish him all the best,” Kumar told media here.
Choudhary, a five-time MLA who represents the Sarairanjan constituency in Bihar’s Samastipur District, is considered to be very close to Kumar, and his appointment as the Speaker is seen as a strategic step by JD(U).
