India reach 326-8 at lunch after centurion Ajinkya Rahane falls against South Africa at Feroz Shah Kotla

Ajinkya Rahane scored his maiden Test century at home as India have reached 326 for eight at lunch on the second day of the fourth and final match against South Africa at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Friday.

Resuming at the overnight position of 231-7, India batted proficiently by adding 95 runs in the first session. Rahane received an able ally in Ravichandran Ashwin, who remains unbeaten on 53.

Rahane was dismissed for a gritty 127 after AB de Villiers caught his catch on Imran Tahir’s delivery.

India took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the four-match series after comprehensively defeating the tourists by 124 runs in the third Test.

With the win, India also ended South Africa’s nine-year winning streak in away Test series.
