Due to the ongoing protests by the Madhesis in Terai region, the schools have reopened after a long break of three months.
Considering the upcoming 12th class examinations, District Education official Rambinay Singh permitted the schools to remain open for a month.
All the government and private schools in the rural areas of Birgunj also remain open.
Earlier on Friday, three major parties, the Nepali Congress, the CPN-UML and the Unified CPN-Maoist drafted a three-point proposal to be tabled during the major parties’ talks with the agitating Madhesi parties.
