Flag-off scheduled for December 16, 2015 at 6.30 a.m. from Hotel Shangrila, Bengaluru

Indian Terrain along with the Tour of Nilgiris team will take this event to other 5 cities of Chennai, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, Chandigarh & Pune where it will be called “Race to the Nilgiris” where it will be a one day event with two winners being awarded a free entry invite to the Tour of Nilgiris.
Indian Terrain’s brand ambassador, bollywood celebrity Randeep Hooda was present at the launch of the 8th edition of the tour and unveiled the Rider Jersey & declared the tour open for 2015.
The riders will be flagged off from the Shanghri-La hotel in Bengaluru on December 16, 2015 (Wednesday) at 6:30 a.m. Indian Terrain Tour of Nilgiris 2015 will witness 109 riders covering a distance of 870+ kms across Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Participants of the Indian Terrain Tour of Nilgiris 2015 will ride through three wildlife sanctuaries – Bandipur National Park in Karnataka, Mudumalai National Park in the Nilgiris and Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary in Kerala.
In its eight edition, Tour of Nilgiris has grown in both popularity and stature across the globe. A total of 109 participants have been selected from over 500 applications received by the organizers to participate in the current edition of India’s most scenic & endurance testing cycling tour. This year, the event is set to witness participants from Singapore, China, Nepal, Germany, Netherlands, USA, UK and India (the host country).
Highlight of Indian Terrain TFN 2015 on its fourth day is the ‘King and Queen of the Mountains’ climb to Kalahatti – considered a ‘Hors Categorie'; something that is beyond categorization – in simple French cycling terms, one of the toughest climbs possible! The Kalahatti climb gains 1200mts of elevation in about 12 kms giving an average elevation gain of around 10 % with a few stretches going up to 15 % or more of gradient.
Indian Terrain Tour of Nilgiris 2015 goes beyond cycling as a sport, with riders keen to make their pedals count by giving something back to the society. Indian Terrain TFN 2015 will witness ÂÂ4 charity riders supporting the social initiatives: Gangadhar Balija, roped in by Aditya Mehta Foundation will raise funds to support three para athletes. Vivek Bhateja raised INR 3 lacs last year healing over 20 patients through the Free Spine Surgery Program (called Giving Back) at Sita Bhateja Speciality Hospital, has set his sights even higher this year and is participating to raise INR 10 lacs towards the Free Spine Surgery Programme. Two other riders Thanmaya BP and Anshuman Caprihan will participate in the Indian terrain TfN this year to raise money for Iksha Foundation to support children with eye cancer.
