The suspected al-Qaeda terrorist Abdur Rahman, who was arrested from Cuttack in Odisha last week, was asked to recruit youths to work for terror organisations.
According to Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate police chief Rajendra Prasad Sharma, Abdur Rehman had met another suspected al-Qaeda terrorist Mohammed Asif in Bangalore.
Asif was arrested from Delhi.
Asif had received a message from a Pakistani al-Qaeda co-ordinator in which he had been asked to discuss with Rahman for recruitment.
A five member police team is leaving Bhubaneswar today to coordinate with the special cell of Delhi police. The team will collect information about Rehman’s foreign links and financial transactions.
