Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended his wishes to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on his 62nd birthday.
“Dear Arun ji, wishing you a very happy birthday. May you be blessed with the best health & a long life. @arunjaitley,” Prime Minister said in his tweet.
The Union Finance Minister is currently under the hammer for his role in the alleged corruptions and irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).
Jaitley previously held the cabinet portfolios of Commerce and Industry and Law and Justice in the National Democratic Alliance government (1998-2004).
From 2009 to 2014, he was Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and is also a former Minister of Defence.
Jaitley was an Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) student leader in the Delhi University Campus in the seventies and rose to be President of the University Students’ Union in 1974.
