Mexico continued their dominance in Concacaf Gold Cup as they defeated first time finalist Jamaica 3-1 in the final of the 2015 edition of the tournament on Monday.

Jamaica were never in the hunt as they were unable to cope up with the pressure created by Mexico, who won the tournament for record seventh time.

Andres Guardado opened the account for Mexico in the 31st minute of the match, before Jesus Corona and Oribe Peralta further increased the lead in 47th and 61st minute respectively.

Darren Mattocks scored the lone goal for Jamaica in the 80th minute of the match.

This was Mexico’s third title win in the last four cups.

Mexico manager Miguel Herrera said that he was very happy with the performance, adding that the team dominated the ball and it was a great satisfaction for all of them.

South Africa skipper, Hashim Amla, has said that his team will take many positives from the first Test against Bangladesh that ended in a tame-draw at Chittagong.

The rain-curtailed Test match ended in a draw after bad weather washed out the final two days play without a ball being bowled.

Amla believes the team would take confidence from the way they returned back into the game, following a disappointing collapse with the bat, and the resilience with the ball in placid conditions.

Amla insisted he was optimistic of enforcing a win in the Proteas’ favour, particularly because of the prospect of bowling to Bangladesh on a deteriorating fifth day’s pitch.

He said that there were good contributions with both bat and ball, especially the bowlers who tried exceptionally hard and barred Bangladesh of getting a big lead.

He added that there was no use of getting frustrated by rain because no one has control over these things.

Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton fended off his team mate Nico Rosberg to emerge as the fastest driver in the final practice session on Saturday ahead of qualifying at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Hamilton was just 0.098 seconds faster than his Mercedes team mate Rosberg, whose car’s engine stopped working at the end of the session.

Six-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt has insisted that he is ‘not worried’ to face in-form American sprinter Justin Gatlin at next month’s World Championships in Beijing.

The Jamaican, who holds the world record in both 100 metres and 200 metres, said that he was not planning to lose in Beijing despite his struggles with form this year.

Bolt, who will compete in the 100m at the Anniversary Games in London on Friday, insisted that he was not worried to face fellow sprinter Gatlin despite knowing the fact that the latter had been on a winning streak this season.

Bolt said that he was looking forward to going to Beijing, adding that there would no worries as long as he was in great shape.

Although Gatlin has clocked 2015’s fastest 100m and 200m this season, he is yet to race against Bolt.

Shubham Jaglan, a 10-year-old son of a milkman from Haryana, has claimed the IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championship for the 9-10 age category in San Diego.

Jaglan claimed the junior world championship on Thursday and has already won over 100 tournaments.

“Shubham was five years old when he started golf. He use to practice in an agricultural field. I would like to thank Delhi Golf Foundation to help him. I would congratulate all his fans for their support,” said Eshwar Singh, Jaglan’s Grandfather.

India’s former top golfer Nonita Lall Qureshi has been training Shubham since he was seven-years old.

South African off-spinner Simon Harmer has insisted that patience with the ball will be a key factor during the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, which starts in Chittagong from Tuesday.

The 26-year-old, who will tour Bangladesh for the first time, believes that bowlers need to be as patient as possible on the subcontinent wickets and warned his team mates not to get carried away by spinning wickets.

Harmer said that the wickets would take care of themselves if he stays patient and stick to his game plan by not trying to take wickets.

The off-spinner maintained that variation would also be another key factor to suceess in the tour, saying that bowlers should vary their pace and bowl different ball s as Bangladesh batsmen are proficient on such wickets.

South Africa will try to make amendments in the Test series after losing three-match ODI series 2-1 against the hosts.

Fabian Delph, who had expressed his desire to stay with Aston Villa, has taken a surprising U-turn and signed a five-year contract with Manchester City.

City have agreed to pay eight million pounds for the transfer of the mid-fielder, who had joined Villa Park in January.

Aston Villa have released a statement confirming their captain’s exit.

City boss Manuel Pellegrini said that at the age of 25, he was still about to have his best years ahead.

He also insisted that Delph was an excellent player and he was looking forward to work with him.

Amidst the ongoing crisis in the football’s world governing body, FIFA is planning to amend the bidding rules by prohibiting the countries from making foreign investment in overseas football development projects.

The organisation would also demand the bidding nations to stick to United Nation’s standards on human rights and labour laws.

Meanwhile, the existing clause, which gave the authority to all countries wishing to stage the World Cup to pump money into the game outside their own borders, will be scrapped.

No bidding nation would be allowed to spend money on the overseas football development projects, both prior to, and after, any vote.

FIFA sources have acknowledged that the earlier regulation increased the risk of corruption.

Meanwhile, the bidding process for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been postponed.

The change in the bidding law seems to be coming after FIFA ex-official Chuck Blazer had admitted that he and others on the executive committee had agreed to accept bribes for choosing South Africa as the host for the 2010 World Cup.

He also accepted that he arranged for bribes to be paid for the 1998 event as well.
