Puttur: A 19-year-old student died and three others injured in a train mishap near Vivekananda College, here on September 28.
The deceased has been identified as Varsha Alva (19), a resident of Derebail and a Second year BE Student of Vivekananda College-Puttur.
According to railway police, Varsha along with three others were standing on the railway tracks and clicking photographs – they failed to notice the approaching train and were hit by the train, but Varsha was crushed to death.
Another girl Rachana was severely injured and has been admitted to the hospital. Other two students have sustained minor injuries.
The Locals immediately rushed the injured to the hospital.
