London, Jan 8: In a major breakthrough in the cosmetic surgery world, a dermatologist has created a 24-carat gold facelift procedure that would help one look eight years younger without the hassles of a surgery.
Cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Pawel Koziczynski took 20 years to develop the 3,600-pound worth GoldThread Rejuvenation Procedure.
During the anaesthesia-free procedure, doctors sew 99.9 percent pure gold thread, of 0.1mm thickness, into the layer just below the skin and then leave it, the Daily Star reported.
The gold threads prompt the body to produce collagen and fibroblasts, the cells that plays a critical role in the structure of our tissues.
After the procedure, which supposedly repairs wrinkles, tightens the jawline and eliminates dark circles, doctors say patients can return to work the next day without any scars or swelling.
