Cartoons exhibition by Ranjan Somaiah kick starts in Bangalore

Bangalore, 12 April 2014: “I am more interested in drawing political cartoons so when i decided to participate in this exhibition I thought of drawing the present political scenario” said Ranjan Somaiah, Cartoonist during the inauguration of his work at The Indian Cartoon Gallery. The exhibition was inaugurated today (12 April 2014) in Indian Cartoon Gallery by  Chiranjeev Singh, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary (retd.), Governement of  Karnataka, Presently Chairman, Alliance Francaise, Bangalore.

A graduate of IIT, Madras, Ran-som was employed by Tata Consulting Engineers fro many years before he set out on his own. Apart from cartooning, he designs off-beat buildings, paints in watercolors and oil (has held exhibitions at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat), has illustrated a children’s book and has executed sculptural installations in stainless steel.

The cartoons exhibited were of famous political personalities like Jayalalitha CM, Tamilnadu, Sonia Gandhi Congress President, Manmohan Singh PM, Narendra Modi CM, Gujarat and many more.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Chiranjeev Singh said “Cartoonist Ranjan Somaiah has presented his cartoons very well based on the present political scenario”.

The cartoon exhibition by Ranjan Somaiah has started from today in Indian Cartoon Gallery.

The exhibition will be open to public till 26th April 2014 at The Indian Cartoon Gallery, No 1, Midford Gardens, Behind Big Kids Kemp, Off MG Road, Bangalore- 1.
