New Delhi: Google’s Chromecast dongle that that connects to an HDTV via the HDMI port and lets users stream content from their phones, tablets or laptops to their TV is now listed on Indian online shopping websites.
The device that has received positive reviews is now available on Amazon.in and eBay.in. While the device is priced at Rs 3,099 on Amazon India, it is available at a substantially higher price (Rs 4,599) on eBay India.
With the 2-inch Chromecast device you can bring content from your different devices on to your TV. Users need to plug in the dongle to their high-definition (HD) TV and it allows them to use their phone, tablet or laptop to ‘cast’ online content to their TV screens.
With Chromecast you can use your phone, tablet or laptop to browse and cast content to your TV, play and pause, control the volume. With the content streaming, you can also multitask – send emails or surf the web – while seeing what is on the TV screen.
Chromecast works across platforms – Android tablets and smartphones, iPhones, iPads, Chrome for Mac and Windows.
Google is yet to officially announce Google Chromecast’s availability in India. The official page still says, “Chromecast is not available in your country.”
