Mumbai: The 51-year-old Nita Ambani is always in limelight for her sports teams or in connection to the business. Even though, she is the wife of a billionaire but she believes in living a simple life.
On the contrary, she was spotted in the newspapers for a very expensive saree that she wore in February this year. She wore a designer saree worth Rs. 40 lakh in the wedding ceremony of son of CEO of Reliance Industries Group Peeramal Nathwani.
The event was held on February 3, 2014 in Ahmedabad. The special saree was designed by Chennai’s Shivalingam. At least 12 people prepared this saree in one year time. It weighs nearly 8 kg.
The name of this saree is also registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most expensive saree.
The name of the saree is ‘Vivah pattu.’ It contains 11 paintings which were once made by famous painter of the country Raja Ravi Verma. Gold thread has been used to make designer pattern on the saree. Also, expensive stones like ruby, emerald, sapphire and pearl have been used in its making.
