New Delhi, Jan 19: Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi’s inclusion in the BJP left many stunned specially close friend and activist Anna Hazare.
Bedi, who was a close aide of Hazare and was even a part of Team Anna who launched India Against Corruption campaign, said that though she had tried calling Hazare many times she was not able to speak to him.
Bedi said: “I called Anna ji on the telephone, sometimes he was sleeping, sometimes he was taking rest.” She added and said that she was not in touch with the activist since their last agitation a year ago.
Hazare, on the other hand, is said to be extremely hurt with Bedi’s decision to join the BJP. Hazare had told reporters that Bedi had not spoken to him before joining the BJP. Ironically both
Hazare and Bedi were against Arvind Kejriwal (who was also a part of team Anna during the India Against Corruption campaign) entering politics in 2012. Kiran Bedi formally joined the BJP last week and is set to contest the Delhi Assembly elections, which will be held on Feb 7.
