Pakistan’s premier all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has been cleared by the International Cricket Council to resume bowling in international matches after remedial works and retests on his remodeled action.

Hafeez was suspended from bowling with immediate effect after the ICC ruled his action was illegal as his elbow extension exceeded the 15 degree level of tolerance.

The ICC confirmed that the off-spinner has successfully cleared the reassessment test, held in Chennai, India on April 9.

However, the ICC stated that the umpires are still at liberty to report Hafeez in the future if they believe he is displaying a suspect action and not reproducing the legal actions from the retests.

The off-spinner was reported after the first Test against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi in November, which Pakistan won by 248 runs.

The clearance will allow Hafeez to bowl in the third and final one-day international against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Wednesday.
