News for selfie obsessed women! A new study has shown that young women waste over 5 hours in a week taking their own pictures.
A survey of 2,000 women aged between 16-25 revealed, that the pre-photo act of applying make-up, getting the right lighting and angle, and the time spent on each photo-taking session takes up around 48 minutes a day, which is a total of 5 hours and 36 minutes every week.
An average of 16 minutes on each selfie-session was spent on 3 selfies per day.
Newby Hands, of www.feelunique.com which commissioned the survey, said that the act had really caught up as a trend to share ideas and inspiration.
The study also showed that a lot of younger generation suffered from ‘selfie-esteem’ – where they associated their body confidence with the amount of ‘likes’ they receive on a selfie on Facebook, Twitter etc.
Hands also said that celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Nicole Scherzinger have described the positive effects of selfies, claiming that it was empowering, making young generation follow their suit.
