Marin Cilic and Kei Nishikori will square off against each other in the Washington Open semi-finals on Saturday after both players won their respective last eight matches.
The semi-final clash will see both Cilic and Nishikori battle for the first time since the final of last year’s US Open.
Earlier, defending US Open champion Cilic overcame his German opponent Alexander Zverev 7-5, 7-6 (7/ 3), while Nishikori claimed a 6-4, 6-4 win over Australia’s Sam Groth in their quarter-final ties.
