Stating that ‘self confidence’ of the country has gone up in the last one year, veteran Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) leader L.K. Advani on Saturday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day address reflected his ‘firm resolve’.
“An important political transformation took place last year, and this is its second year. People have hopes, the self confidence of the nation has gone up….The Prime Minister has repeated what he had said last year. There was firmness in his resolve,” Advani told mediapersons after unfurling the national flag on the occasion of 69th Independence Day at his residence here.
“He said that self confidence of the government is linked to the confidence of people in our workers,” he added.
Prime Minister Modi touched upon various subjects during his Independence Day address from the Red Fort.
The Prime Minister vowed to relentlessly work towards eliminating corruption from the nation and added that his government has taken several steps to address the issue of black money.
He also said that ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyan’ has touched every person in the country and thanked the children of the nation for enthusiastically participating in the cleanliness campaign.
Prime Minister Modi also assured the ex-servicemen that a decision on the OROP Scheme would be taken soon.
