Kevin Sutcliffe, Vice News’ head of news programming in Europe, has called the charges against two British journalists working with Vice News “baseless and alarmingly false”.
Jake Hanrahan, a correspondent, and Philip Pendlebury, a cameraman along with their Turkey-based assistant, were arrested on charges of aiding an unidentified terrorist group.
The trio were detained while reporting from Diyarbakir in a district where
Kurdish youths often clash with security officials.
