Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao to hang gloves on legendary career after Bradley bout

Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao has confirmed that he will call curtains to his illustrious career after fighting his last bout against Timothy Bradley in April in order to concentrate on politics.

Dismissing the reports that he would not take retirement unless a rematch with American rival Floyd Mayweather, Pacquiao confirmed that he would take retirement after April 9 fight.

Pacquiao, who is looking forward to switch his career in politics, said that he was confident of winning a senate seat in the May elections.

The 37-year-old insisted that his survey rankings had been consistent, adding that he hopes it would improve with time.

Pacquiao, who has won world titles in eight different weight classes, had earlier undergone corrective surgery to fix his torn rotator cuff sustained months before the fight against Mayweather.

Pacquiao has won 57 fights and lost only six bouts in his professional career of more than 20 years.
