Los Angeles: Bollywood actress and former Miss World PriyankaChopra, who attended the People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, won the Favorite Actress in a New TV series award at the People’s Choice Awards 2016 here for her leading role in American TV thriller series “Quanticoâ€.
The 33-year-old, who plays the role of an FBI agent named Alex Parish in the show, on Wednesday night, was competing against actresses like Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele and Marcia Gay Harden in the category.
Priyanka donned a glittering gold and silver dress designed by American fashion designer Vera Wang at the awards gala.
And also Priyanka Chopra has become the first South Asian actress to win a People’s Choice Awards. The “Quantico” actress was nominated in the “Favourite Actress in a New TV Series” category.
“I would like to thank everyone who voted for “Quantico”. It’s my first year in America and to come to another country and actually get this kind of acceptance is, I guess, America is all about. Thank you all. My mom, my manager, the cast and crew, the writer, ABC Paul Lee, everyone I am just overwhelmed,” Priyanka said.
