New Delhi, Mar. 2: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Arvinder Singh Lovely on Sunday accused former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal of making false promises to people, saying because of Kejriwal, people of the national capital would have to pay double tariff for power and water.
Lovely slammed Kejriwal saying he did not fulfill his duties and promises.
While addressing a meeting of ‘expose all’ campaign kickstarted by Congress party, Lovely blamed Kejriwal for dereliction of duties.
“This second meeting of ‘expose all’ campaign has been organised by Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah. Huge crowd has gathered for the same. Arvind Kejriwal has betrayed the people of Delhi. It is due to his negligence that the people of Delhi will have to give double tariff for electricity and water. He did not fulfill his promises as well as his duties,” said Lovely.
Activist-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal had resigned as chief minister of Delhi on February 14, after his pet anti graft legislation was rejected by the state assembly.
Lovely added that Kejriwal’s resignation was preplanned and he was not worried about people of Delhi.
Meanwhile, Lovely termed the 49-day AAP government as a “government of promises and no performances” and its sudden departure as an “act of betrayal” to the people.
The AAP plans to contest at least 350 of the 543 seats at stake in the Lok Sabha and has promised to field strong candidates against a string of high-ranking politicians Kejriwal described as corrupt.
