‘2 States’ has made a superb start with its box office collection touching Rs 38.06 crore over the first weekend courtesy a fine performance by Alia Bhatt who was ably supported by Arjun Kapoor.

Trade expert Taran Adarsh called ‘2 States’ a ‘super hit’.

“#2 States has a FANTABULOUS weekend. Friday Rs 12.42 crore, Saturday 12.13 crore, Sunday 13.51 crore. Total: Rs 38.06 crore nett. SUPER HIT,” Adarsh tweeted today.

With a big, fat weekend total is on the cards, 2States did not disappoint in box office. The film embarked on a superb note across multiplexes as well as excellent openings in the mass belt.

The Good Friday holiday also helped the film open to packed houses, with the youth thronging the cineplexes across the country.

Adarsh said, “Whenever a film features actor/s who recently achieved success with his/her previous release, the audience anticipation for their immediate film is immense. In the case of 2 STATES, the film features two of the most-talked-about stars, Arjun Kapoor (post the success of ‘Gunday’) and Alia Bhatt (after winning accolades for her performance in ‘Highway’). Now add the brand Chetan Bhagat – and also credible names such as Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala and UTV – and you are assured of a terrific start at the ticket window.”
