Vadodara, May 16: After taking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to a clear victory in the Lok Sabha elections, party prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Friday thanked the voters of Vadodara and Varanasi constituency for electing him.

“After filing nomination from Vadodara, I could only give 50 minutes to this constituency but you all gave me approximately 5, 70, 000 votes. I want salute you all. You all have given so much love me. Each and every voter worked like Narendra Modi in this election,” Modi said while addressing his victory rally.

Talking about his win in Varanasi constituency, Modi took an indirect jibe at the Election Commission and said, “It is for the first time that a candidate was not given an opportunity to have a conversation with the voters, but the Banaras has put a stamp of victory on the silence of Modi.”

He also said that good days are ahead of the country, and added that the journey has started from today onwards for next five years.

“The entire media wanted me to say something since morning, but I wanted to come and speak only in Vadodara. Only Vadodara has the first right,” he added.
