Recently Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt were in town to promote their latest flick Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Well the name is inquisitive and they claim the movie is too. It is a movie tribute to DDLJ and the signature scene of DDLJ is certainly seen in the movie. And definitely not a replica of DDLJ!
Varun, what is Mr. Dhawan’s role in your life?
He is certainly the main part of my life. He gave birth to me. He is the reason for me being here right in front of you today.
Varun, how should be your Dulhania?
Right now I have no idea but she should be an ardent animal lover.
Alia, this is your second film together, how does it feel?
Well we are very comfortable acting together. In Student of the year we don’t unite, and audience were sad. And in this we are back together.
Varun, you are mostly seen in homely and chocolate boy kind of roles. When can we see you in action oriented movie?
You know my face is soft. It is both a boon and a bane. I prefer to do characters which suit my face. But yes, I wish to act in action films too!
Varun plays role of Rakesh Humpty Sharma, a middle class Delhi boy, who has no ambition and no expectations from life. He helps his father in their University Book Store and drink away with his two best friends. But just like his namesake he does fall, he falls in Love.
Alia is Kavya Pratap Singh, a Punjabi Kudi from Ambala. She is ethnic yet fashionable, cautious yet outgoing. If she wants something, she will go get it. Kavya is truly loveable.
The movie also boasts of Sidharth Shukla, Ashutosh Rana and Kenneth Desai in significant roles. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Humpty is coming to silver screens on July 11th.
