Science is part and parcel of life. The inquisitiveness for science develops at a very early age as the child starts growing and is exposed to various things around his/her surroundings. The questions how and why start arising in the mind of the child.

Encouraging scientific and technological creativity among students and inculcating a sense of pride in their talent. Creating awareness that science and mathematics are all around us and we can gain knowledge as well as solve many problems by relating the learning process to the physical and social environment is very important among children.

Also appreciating the role of science in meeting the challenges of life such as climate change, opening new avenues in the area of agriculture, fertiliser, food processing, biotechnology, green energy, disaster management, information and communication technology, astronomy, transport, games and sports etc plays a vital role.
