The Indian Army on Saturday foiled an infiltration bid in Nowgam sector killing two infiltrators. This is the second infiltration bid foiled by the army in Kupwara sector. Last week, the Army had killed four militants in Tanghdar sector.
Army said that a group of infiltrators was spotted by their patrol team near Toutmar Gali. The militants were challenged by the troops resulting in an encounter that is still going on. An army officer told that operation is still in progress. â€The operation is still under way and there is possibility more militants are in the area.â€
Tout Mari where from infiltrators tried to sneak is still covered with snow but militants have been using this route for the past many years.
