Republic day flower show kick starts in Lal Bagh from 17th

To commemorate the Golden Jubliee, the horticultural department has organised a special flower show exhibition for the Republic Day which has shaped up in the Glass house!

Farmers have been the backbone of the country. As a tribute to him, this year’s flower show depicts a farmer and his wife with a basket full of vegetables called “Negila Yogige Namana”. To celebrate the Golden jubliee, the horticulture dept has also erected “Suvarna Sthamba” an eighteen feet tall pillar made of various types of carnations.

This year’s show also boasts of the largest flower i.e., Rafflesia arnoldii along with the pitcher plant. Various types of carnations, gernaniums, ferns, petonia, orchids, cockscoomb, jerbera, anthurium etc have made into the flower show. Terrace gardens, bonsai, floral pedestrals are the special attractions.

Horticultural dept has improved the parking and security measures. There is no parking facility for the private vehivles inside the garden. Parking facility has been provided in the Shantinagar Bus Stand.

The entry fee for adults being Rs. 40 on weekdays and Rs. 50 on holidays and Rs. 10 for children on all days.
