Bangalore, February 25, 2014: Karnataka Bulldozers are the very happy victors of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) Season 4. This team, ably captained by Kiccha Sudeep, has won the championship for the 2nd time in a row. The highly entertaining final match was played against the Kerala Strikers at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium in Hyderabad. Karnataka Bulldozers emerged victorious with a margin of 36 runs.
Having won the toss, the Kerala Strikers opted to have the Bulldozers take to the crease first. The Karnataka team set a formidable score of 212 runs with the loss of just two wickets. Rajeev scored a brilliant century off just 41 balls, earning him the title of “Man of the Match”. Kerala Strikers did put up a good fight and managed to retain a partnership at the crease to score around 80 runs. However, after the fall of the main wicket, it was just a matter of time before the Bangalore team won the match. Kerala Strikers scored 175 runs in 20 overs with 2 wickets to spare. Abhimanyu and Pradeep both took 2 wickets each. The “Man of the Series” award was bagged by Dhruva.
Accepting the honor on behalf of the team, Captain Sudeep said, “It is a very emotional moment for me. Among the celebrities present for the match were Sohail Khan, owner of the Mumbai Heroes and team mates Bobby Deol and Aftab Shivdasani. V. Mohanlal, Owner of the Kerala Strikers was also present at the final match. The Kannada Film Industry was represented by Ashok Kheny, owner of the Karnataka Bulldozers, Rockline Venkatesh and Suman Ranganath, the brand ambassador, among several other celebrities.
Speaking on this victory, Ashok Kheny said, “We have a very dedicated team and this victory must be celebrated. Despite being celebrities in their own right, every team member has given his 100% to the match. Together they have succeeded in lifting the trophy for the second time in a row.”
