The stars of Lekar Hum Diwana Dil movie, Deeksha Seth and Armaan Jain were in the city for the promotion of their upcoming film. IBC World caught up with them for a quick chat with Dr Yashaswini.
Hi Deeksha! Welcome to Bangalore. This is your debut bollywood movie. How do you feel about it?
Thank you! I am feeling very amazing, very happy about it. I am very very excited.
Are you nervous?
No. Not right now. So many people want to do a movie and so many want a chance and a break. In India people love movies. They want to become stars. I feel I am lucky enough to get this great opportunity. So I don’t want to spend it being nervous. I want to spend it being happy and being positive and enjoying the moment.
Debuting with a Kapoor clan member is a big thing. How you feeling? Happy, nervous what exactly is your feeling?
No, Armaan is my friend now. I can’t say whether I am nervous or not because he is my friend. Acting is there in their genes and Armaan is so spontaneous as an actor. He is a very good co-star to have. It is very exciting to work with him.
You debuted in south Indian cinema, started with Tollywood, moved to Kollywood. But not many of your movies were runaway hits. They dint actually perform well in the box office. Are you considered as a black charm?
I have no idea what people consider me as. No one stopped offering me movies. No personally I have no idea what they consider me as.
Which is favourite movie in South Indian cinema?
Vedam. It being my first movie has a special place in my heart. And nothing can take its place.
What is your favourite song in this Lekar hum Diwana Dil?
It is called “Ala Hada”. It’s a very romantic song and it was the first song which we had heard. It is montage picturized between me and Armaan. I love the song.
What are you upcoming movies apart from Bollywood?
I have 2 film exclusive deal with Illuminati Production house. First one being Lekar Hum Diwana Dil and second is still not known to me. As I am in the contract, I am not entitled to sign any other films.
And we also caught up with Armaan Jain,
Hey Armaan! How do feel to be back in Bangalore?
It feels very good and special this time as it is for my first film. It feels great. I have been to Bangalore quite few times, for family trips, to meet my friends who were studying here. The people are warm welcoming. The culture is nice. The food is very nice. It is really great being back here.
How u feeling promoting your debut movie? Happy or nervous?
I have been busy with promotions going to many cities and our minds have been preoccupied. If I was three hours at home I would’ve had a nervous breakdown by now. I am super excited and nervous at the same time. It is a positive anxiety and a great fun promoting it.
Being a part of Kapoor clan, there are a lot of expectations from you. What is your feeling?
More than expectations it is been a personal journey. More of self imposed pressure. Expectations and pressures are external but what is internal as person is self imposed pressure because if you really want to do well you put a lot of pressure in your head. People started asking me this one month before, so I started asking myself, what can I do better? I can’t change my game plan. I am going to work hard. I am going to do my best. I am going to live every day the same way, enjoy every day and rest you leave it to God and Destiny. I have done my film. I hope and pray for the best. I hope people accept it.
All biggie cousins of yours Kareen, Karishma have been promoting your film, how do feel?
They have always promoted me while growing up. Our family has promoted each other growing up. When I did school plays, stage plays or during football matches, the same family which you are seeing in media probably now was always there. So the only difference is you are seeing now and they have always been there for all occasions like when Ranbir had his music launch for Saawaria, football matches or any event we have been there for each other. As a family we have been together and strong for each other so it is a good feeling.
What is your favourite song in the movie?
That’s though. First i feel really lucky to have Rahman sir doing music for my first film and it is really special. I love every song equally but my favourite changes every week. This week it is “Mawali Qawwali”
What is your message?
Lekar Hum Diwana Dil is releasing on 4th July. It is a very young happy energetic film. Deeksha, Arif and I have done this with great conviction. I really hope people watch this film for the energy and liveliness of film and I hope you love it.
