Girl kidnapped and gangraped in Punjab

Monday, October 06, 2014, Chandigarh: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped, sedated and gangraped by four youths at a village in Punjab, police said today. The incident took place in Alamgir village near Ludhiana yesterday night.

A case of rape, kidnapping and threatening has been registered against Sonu, Raja, Soni and Nindi on a complaint filed by the mother of the minor girl, they said. The mother has alleged that the girl had left for school in the morning after which the incident took place, police said.

In her complaint, the mother has said that the accused, who live in Mohala Basabt Nagar, followed her daughter while she was going to school. They then sprayed some sedative on her, pushed her into an autorickshaw and took her to Alamgir village.

When she regained consciousness, the accused raped her turn-wise and later dumped her near a college, threatening to keep mum about the incident. Police said a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
