Larger, high-intensity displays projected for Apple’s next iPhone in 2014

Washington, Jan. 15: Apple’s next smartphone, iPhone 6 could have larger, higher-intensity displays this year, a research firm has predicted.

DisplaySearch has forecast speculations about screens that might arrive on Apple’s iPhone, iWatch, large iPads and Android tablets.

According to Cnet, the firm has predicted that iPhone 6 having 5.5-inch screen and a 1,920×1,080 display based on LTPS (low-temperature polysilicon) LCD, as upgrades to the recently launched iPhone 5S.

If the tech giant incorporates the bigger and better displays in its next flagship product, it would stand in competition to rival Samsung’s Galaxy S4 that has a 5-inch display with the same resolution.

DisplaySearch said that the flexible AMOLED display would be a first for Apple in its iWatch smartwatch.

The firm has further predicted that 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch AMOLED displays would dominate the tablet market.

It has also forecast that Apple’s new iPad would use a 12.9-inch 2,732×2,048 display that would basically be the same pixel density as the iPad Air, the report added.
