Washington, Feb. 05: Within hours of being appointed as Microsoft’s new CEO, Satya Nadella offered a vision of a ‘ people-centric IT’, which would mean creating products and services where the end-user gets the experience they want and IT gets the control that they want.
In his Webcast, meant ideally for partners and customers, Nadella talked broadly about his strategy of ‘ mobile-first, cloud-first’, in which software would be at the core of everything Microsoft approaches.
According to Cnet, Microsoft took six-months to name 46-year-old Nadella as its new chief executive, who previously headed the Cloud and Enterprise group at the company.
Nadella also pledged to bring new partnerships to bear as the company approaches new scenarios adding that his “Day 1 priorities” would involve making sure the company was in close touch with ‘ customers, partners, and investors.’
Nadella is only the third chief executive in Microsoft’s nearly four-decade-long history.
