Scorecard

It has been eight years since India Women last played a Test match, but they made light of that lengthy gap by beating England Women by six wickets in Wormsley.

India held the edge at stumps on the third day, but with 62 needed to complete the victory, it was expected to be a test of nerves on Saturday. However, the vastly experienced Mithali Raj and Shikha Pandey – one of India’s eight debutants in the match – took India through without losing a wicket to spark scenes of joyous celebrations. It was only their second victory ever over England, in 13 Tests.
