New Delhi, Mar. 4:Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Tuesday made a direct attack on Bharatiya Janata Party prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, saying that Modi ran “a corrupt government in Gujarat” and his party BJP stood for “Bahut Jyada Paap”.
“Modi’s allegations on corruption in our government are wrong. Modi’s government in Gujarat is the most corrupt. They did not even appoint a Lokayukta there for years. Also, what about the corruption in Karnataka under BS Yeddyurappa? Why is Modi silent on that?” asked Mayawati.
“The BJP stands for ‘Bahut Jyada Paap’ and we will do everything possible to prevent the BJP from coming to power,” she said.
She further said that her party gave outside support to the Congress to stop communal forces from coming to power.
“We gave outside support to the UPA government to prevent communal forces from coming to power at the centre, but the Central government has failed on all counts. We aren’t happy with its policies,” said Mayawati.
“Also, the Samajwadi Party by holding rally on the same day as BJP wants to send a message to Muslims that it is the only party which can contest against BJP, but the SP government has failed its people. UP has witnessed extreme lawlessness, and I reiterate that President’s rule be imposed in UP,” she said.
“No significant progress in minorities and backward classes under the Samajwadi Party government,” she added.
