Vani Ganapathy & Sathyanarayana Raju announce the Dance Drama “Dwaaram”

Bangalore, June 2014 – Renowned danseuse, choreographer and designer Vani Ganapathy, together with Sathyanarayana Raju, the most sort after male Bharata Natyam dancer and choreographer announced their upcoming dance drama, “Dwaaram”, at My Fortune, Bengaluru. Member ITC’S Hotel Group, today.

The brainchild of Vani, “Dwaaram” was conceptualized in 2006 and initially fleshed out with the help of Indubala Ganapathy, her mother. Vani mused over the seed of the dance drama along with friend and art consultant, Usha R.K, for a time before finally deciding to bring the project to fruition. Ms. Ganapathy then approached the acclaimed Sathyanarayana who agreed to come on board as dancer and co choreographer. The result is the mesmerising “Dwaaram”

Speaking at the announcement Vani Ganapathy said “‘Dwaaram’ right from the royal door to a rat hole is an opening. The opening of the doors to the soul, if you will. Doors have eyes and ears perhaps, but this time we will do their talking. Presenting Dwaaram is a dream come alive for me and it was such a pleasure to collaborate with Sathya on this project. Not too many Bharta Natyam dancers could have partnered with me as beautifully as he did. “

Sathyanarayana Raju added “From the time I was first approached with the concept of Dwaaram, I gravitated to it instantly. It was an incredible experience working on the creation of this performance and working with Vani. The joint performance in itself is much like a “Dwaaram” and there is a lot of positive energy within. “

”Dwaaram” will be performed at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall on Friday the 13th of June, 2014. Passes for the show will be given out from the 9th of June on a first come first served basis. Passes are to be collected from My Fortune, Bengaluru, Member ITC’s Hotel Group on Richmond Road, adjacent to Hosmat Hospital.
